adoratio

Adoratio is the last part of the triptych begun by Mysterium and Gravity. Its themes are those of adoration and exaltation. The central works are the Magnificat antiphons of Arvo Pärt and Joonas Kokkonen’s Laudatio Domini. Three English passion carols from circa 1500 reflect on the passion and death of Christ. These are framed by two works from Urmas Sisask’s suite Gloria Patri, in which the composer combines music and the movement of celestial bodies.
